Was surprised to see an article highlighting Sevierville in a Canadian news website. They were boasting on Sevierville having solid options to make a stop along your travels or to stay for awhile. Mostly what they were highlighting is the many pet friendly Sevierville options that are out there.
Trails:ย Of course, the largest draw for forest exploration is Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Featuring access to nature through hiking trails, or a scenic drive through winding roads featuring commanding views, itโs one of the most popular national parks in the United States. Those traveling with pets will be interested in exploring the Gatlinburg Trail as well as the Oconaluftee River Trail, which are the only two trails in the park which are open to canine exploration.
Activities:ย Foxfire Mountain Adventures offers an affordable dayโs worth of adventure for $60. A former cattle farm, the hilly property features a climbing wall, multiple zip line trails, mud buggy exploration, a swinging bridge and more. Smaller-priced adventure packages are available as well, in addition to on-site ice cream and Southern barbecue. Shoppers will want to head to Tanger Outlets, where branches of a number of popular retailers are available for exploration, including Lane Bryant, Eddie Bauer and more. If you are OK with traffic and are a country music fan, you may want to swing through Pigeon Forge on your way back from the national park. Itโs home to the Dollywood theme park owned by Seviervilleโs home-town hero Dolly Parton.
Accommodations:ย Hidden Mountain Resorts offers pet-friendly private cabins and cottages complete with equipped kitchens, laundry machines and private hot tubs. Located just off the main road after entering Sevierville from Pigeon Forge, the resort is minutes from a major grocery store and just as close to the Tanger Outlets for easy shopping. For daily pet accommodations, check out The Barker Lounge. For $25 per day, your pet will receive professional supervision in a clean environment and extra interaction as needed. When our Labrador suffered an anxiety attack while we were exploring the town, the owner called us personally to see if we wished to have them provide the medication we had authorized or come by to offer comfort.
Know of any other places to suggest that are pet friendly in the area?
If you are looking for places to send friends from out of town or your own get away you can check out websites such as DogFriendly.com and BringFido.com to find places to stay.
